Circle R & Facebook

Two pretty exciting things happened this week. First, the US government approved my trademark application for MBA in the USA, making me officially MBA in the USA®.

When I worked in Corporate America, our lawyers always told us it takes about a year for trademark approval. Protocol is to use the general trademark ™ while your application is pending, and update to the registered trademark ® once the government gives the OK. Translation for MBA marketers: Trademarking a name = two sets of graphics + two rounds of copy approval = not that much fun.

I confirmed the process does indeed take about a year; my circle R came 13 months after I submitted the original application. I still have to update my graphics, but luckily there’s no copy approval process. And, I got a really cool government document, complete with a gold seal, to frame and hang in my office.

Second, I launched an MBA in the USA® Facebook Fan Page. I plan to share more about my personal MBA career journey there. You’ll find blog and YouTube highlights as well as pictures and other fun stuff. Please check it out at www.facebook.com/MBAintheUSA and become a fan.

Thanks!
