Whether it’s with your classmates or corporate recruiters, I want you to be prepared. by: Evan Rose, Assistant City Editor

Firemen shuffled from foot to foot against the wind. Police quietly gathered on street corners.

Then the noise downtown began to grow, from the sporadic cheer to a steady, rising roar.

And when the buzzer blared 700 miles away, Franklin Street was buried by thousands of Carolina blue-clad fans, screaming, dancing and burning the clothes off their backs.

“The crowd is unity,” said Chase Beck, a senior. “I’ve never been prouder of my school. It’s all for the Carolina spirit.”

Big East on top with five teams in Sweet 16

by: Jeff Goodman

The Big East has proven its supremacy.

It’s difficult to argue with the numbers — five teams advancing to the Sweet 16.
Pittsburgh, UConn and Louisville all won a pair of games as No. 1 seeds while Villanova and Syracuse both moved on as No. 3 seeds.

The bottom line here is that there’s no argument about which league is above the rest this season. It’s clearly the Big East with all five teams left having a legitimate chance to win two more games and get to Ford Field.
