Words of the Week – touch base

Touch base

To touch base means to communicate with someone. It’s a noncommittal term that allows you flexibility in the way you choose to make contact (e.g. phone, email, drive-by).

A team member might say, “I’ll touch base with you on the Finance homework this afternoon since it’s due at the end of the week.”
