Since 2000, Earth Day has taken the stage once again as people are becoming more concerned about the world’s water, global warming and decreasing natural resources. Every year on April 22, people unite to clean parks and rivers, start recycling programs and educate members of their communities on ways they can help save the earth. Businesses have gotten highly involved in Earth Day by sponsoring events and highlighting their contributions to the movement.
To celebrate Earth Day, try a few of these ideas:
DRINK: start your morning with a fair trade coffee like Equal Exchange that is good for the environment, the communities that grow the coffee and better for you since it’s made without pesticides.
SNACK: munch on homemade trail mix instead of processed foods.
WATCH: An Inconvenient Truth, an American Academy Award-winning documentary film about global warming, presented by former US Vice President Al Gore.
DO: pledge to do one small thing for the environment because every little bit helps. Plant a tree, ride your bike instead of driving or change your light bulbs to compact fluorescents.
JOIN: Net Impact is a global network of leaders who are changing the world through business. There are opportunities to join through most US MBA programs.
Have a fantastic Earth Day!
