Words of the Week – at the end of the day

At the end of the day is used to summarize an argument and draw attention to the most important point. For example, if a Marketing Director was presenting a new product form to management, they could close with “at the end of the day, our customers want innovation, and this proposition will contribute $20 million in topline sales next year.”

Note: at the end of the day is currently one of the most popular buzzwords in US Business English. I hear it almost every day in meetings and one on one conversation with co-workers.
